A freind from Krystal lovers (I wont name any names yet unless that person wants to be revealed) is releasing a video about our petition and will include the petition itself and to send e-mails to voyager2001@cox.net  .  It's a genius plan! And it might get us a few more signatures.

EDIT: The video's here folks!  Lets hope this gets us a few votes

I'll gladly sign this. *signs*

Also, theres another petition for a game that wouldbe a LOT easier to get... but it failed. Try looking up the Goldeneye petition. It had over 30,000 signatures, and despite Rare commenting on it themselves, it never actually got realeased. I dont wanna be a dampener on this, but for this to work... it'll need a lot more steam. The guy behind the Goldeneye one had put it onto more than 20 seperate forums, and got featured on many big gaming sites... but it still failed. Sad

Never doubt, if it can be dreamed it can be done! "Goldeneye" isn't a main Nintendo series like Starfox. I think if we can get 1000 letters to start with we might do well. But the thing is, even if it "Fails" the first time we will never stop fighting for Starfox 2....NEVER! We Starfox fans have a thirst that needs quenching. And gaming sites, 30,000 letters, or 20 forum sites wont matter. As long as we have spirit and unity, we will never stop!

So. Stupid question of the day.
What exactly is required of us when we "sign" the petition, because I'd really rather NOT give out my signature and full name. For rather obvious reasons, I'm sure you realize.

The problem is, I read through the board extensively, and I noticed you had mentioned that a signature (Which, to me, translates as "sign your name with a drawing tablet or something." You need your physical signature.), a full name (Your birth-given, legal name. Maybe not middle name, but first and last.), and your alias are required.

Unfortunately, I'm simply not comfortable with handing out that sort of personal information. Signatures can be dangerous in the hands of many people, and while I do not have any reason to suspect anyone involved with this petition of identity theft, it still seems wise to exercise a modicum of caution.

In other words, my question was not "What all do we need to place on the e-mail," but rather, "What is the minimum amount of personal information we can place on our e-mail."

Oh, I'm sorry; I misunderstood your question. The answer is as much or as little as you like.

You could simply sign it as Cobalt Delta. (And most people are doing that) However I would reccomend leaving some form of contact information. (So you could leave them enough info so they could contact you via Arwing Landing PM'ing)

Send Letters to Voyager2001@cox.net

Our idea has obviously collected alot of dust. As publicity director I checked the other sites and very few attention has been shown to it. Alot of people have posted on these said forums, but few of them go through with the e-mail.

I have relatively minimal experience with forums, mainly because I was quite disappointed with the conduct and topics I experienced with those that I joined.  I had almost abandoned the idea of ever becoming an active member of a forum, and so detached myself from all contact from them.  But now, perhaps, there is hope - the hope that I may actually be attracted to THIS particular board.

If I must say, you are sparing no effort to make the goal of this petition a reality.  And when I say you, I refer to all of you who have banded together and contributed to this petition.  That is why I have seen fit to reply to this topic; I wish to contribute to the cause.  In all honestly, I never expected that I would encounter this sort of dedication in a forum.

I have read all of the posts in this topic, from beginning to end.  In so doing, I understand the objective: to see the revival of Star Fox 2.  If I may digress:

When I was young (about five years of age) the original Star Fox was released.  Though the name Star Fox escaped me, I was quite enthralled when I first witnessed the gameplay.  It seems that, two years later, Star Fox 2 was scheduled for release.  Unfortunately, it never saw that release.  For thirteen years, I was completely unaware of the idea of Star Fox 2.  Now that I have been enlightened to its existence, Star Fox 2 has kindly engraved itself into a special place in my heart.

In short, I am relieved that I found a forum with dedicated users who share the same interest as I.  If only all forums could exhibit this sort of dedication...

I would like to assist you with the realization of your goal.

May I sign?

As much as I'd love to see this game get an official release from Nintendo, I severely doubt they'd ever go through with it.

I think it's fantastic that we get to play it at all, actually. Imagine if the only thing that we knew about this game was that it was in development, and the only ingame info we'd know about were from the Nintendo Power shots; would be more disappointing.

But instead, we get a near complete leak of the ROM with emulation that works hard to make it almost perfect, and I'm pretty happy with that.

Yes, I suppose your right...

Given the fact that Nintendo would have to make the game completely from scratch in order to officially release it, it's not likely to happen.  Of course, there are a number of other factors working against the game's release, as well.  Either way, there is little hope for an official release.

I think it's fantastic that we get to play it at all, actually. Imagine if the only thing that we knew about this game was that it was in development, and the only ingame info we'd know about were from the Nintendo Power shots; would be more disappointing.

True.  What a stroke of luck, huh?  I read that only eight developmental copies of Star Fox 2 were made.   Apparently one was carried off by someone, bought by another person in an auction for $10,000, and the cart ripped of its data in 2001, hence the ROM.  I understand that it took years for it to be near-perfected, and I'm pretty sure you're not the only one who's happy with that, zallard1.

I, too, am pleased with Star Fox 2, for many reasons that I don't need to say here.  In any case, I'm glad that Star Fox 2 was released at all.

However, I thought that it was truly awesome, and very moving, to see people willing to take a chance at something like this.  I must say, if I hadn't seen Arwing Ace's "advertisement" in the Star Fox 2 board on GameFaqs, I would have never discovered this site.  And believe me, I would be willing to help with this, too.  It's something that I kind of need...

Anyway, I guess I should thank Arwing Ace and the rest of the crew for enlightening me to the existence of the grand forum.  If something like this should come up again, I'll be sure to check it out.

Agreed.
I am personally very grateful for what we already have of Star Fox 2, despite the means by which it was made available. This is, and always will be, the silver lining behind it all. Changes to the software would be nominal at best, but its appearance on the VC is not that far out of a concept. Still, if it is all for naught, Star Fox 2 will always have meaning for us. And that cannot be changed - ever.
