A Revolution

My fellow pilots,
We have flown across crimson skies, battled against all odds, and pushed the envelope far beyond all frontiers. We have seen the rise and fall of many Nintendo Systems, and have crusaded against the endless evils pitted against Corneria for over 15 years. StarFox is not just a game we all have, but is a journey we all possess. We are not fans – we are those that feel the rush of the Arwing’s takeoff, that are awed at the stars’ majestic glare, and who’s chords of passion are struck perfectly when a formation of Arwings fly in triumphant glory over a safe, blue planet.
We are Arwing Landing.

We have seen it firsthand. Arwing Landing has followed an amazing pattern of growth since its conception, and many agree that Arwing Landing represents the largest, if not THE, StarFox community. With this comes a responsibility.

StarFox 2, as we all know, was a project that was cancelled moments before its release. Nintendo was likely acting to protect its own financial security, yet watching this event fade well over 12 years into the past has not at all affected our interest in this lost episode. In fact, who of us hasn’t yearned to see a completed console version of StarFox 2? This does not have to remain a dream, my friends, but can fast become reality.

Today, the Super Nintendo and its games have become relics of the past as new projects blaze across our new XBOX 360’s, Play Station III’s, and Nintendo Wii’s. And as new StarFox titles are released, the including of such classics games as bonus material is not only possible, but even fashionable; and we are eyewitnesses to an example of this with “StarFox: Assault” and “Xevious.”

The same can be done with StarFox 2 as was Xevious, but this wont happen unless we make it happen. We, Arwing Landing, must FORMALLY PETITION NINTENDO to complete StarFox 2 and present it as bonus material in the next StarFox title. The reasons for doing this are endless: The technology is abundant, the resurrection of a “lost title” is good for Nintendo, and best of all; it will answer THE PEOPLE!!! Nintendo prides itself for its response to its fans, and here is its opportunity.

We are no minority; we have enough voices to speak out to Nintendo about this. They WILL listen, if they are not impressed by our solid determination alone. We need to organize a formal petition, and then contact Nintendo through multiple means, i.e. mass E-mail, letter writing, even phone calls will show Nintendo that we seriously want to see StarFox 2 and its triumphant return.

WE CAN DO THIS

Now let’s talk about the details and organize ourselves into a digital rally. No non-contributive posts, this is serious. I’m looking forward to seeing Miyu and Fay again.

Just wow... big words you use there.
Yes , StarFox 2 must become a part of the official StarFox gamelist.
And it´s true we are the only people who are able to reach this target.
But are we enough?
We have to bring your message to all SF boards on the net ,that they can sign too.
I would inform all German SF boards of the petition , that i know.
(if there is still any activity *sigh*)

Has someone here ever organized a petition before?
Arwing Landing needs you!

StarFox 2 on The Virtual Console or as Bonus Material is all the same - it would just be amazing if we could see it in its completed form some way or another.

Our first goal should be to compose a formal document that includes the named support of as many StarFox fans as possible (I'm thinking in the thousands at least) But I am not familiar with the forums beyond Arwing Landing and Falco's Nest...

So our VERY VERY FIRST step is to get a list of all of the active StarFox internet forums; and if they range into other languages we need someone who can speak in those languages. So let's start the search and post our findings!

1000 Fans?
That will be hard, it seems like the most SF fans don´t use the Internet.

Here, that one is the most active German one i´ve found: (51 users XD)
http://starfoxfans.com/phpBB2/index.php
If that petition starts i would tell them about.

It´s the only one from the AL link page that is not dead.
And it´s the only "stand alone" board.(that means Starfox is the main topic)

We should generally contact users from Nintendo boards.

Well, it's an interesting idea, but I have my doubts. Either way, I'd sign a petition, but I'd prefer that until Nintendo can make the VC games decent, it should be bonus material instead. They messed up Mario Kart 64 somehow...

I'm with Akio on this one, except I wouldn't sign it. Now it's not that I have a problem with SF2, because it did look like a spiffy game, but something tells me that this won't go over well with the fans that were introduced to the series later on than the 'old schoolers'. =\

Ah, a petition, huh? Petitions are nice, but if we really want to make our dream come true we must get in contact with people of power in order to meet our demands.

Clearly, Nintendo has started to listen to the fan, otherwise we would not have Wii as an online capable console.

For some reason or another some people did not like the fur we had in Assault and Adventures, so as many of us know we don't really see any in Command.

Right now our tactic is to jump head on into this, which logically in a battle could as well be suicide. I think we need to ask around to see who can see our vision come true, how it would be profitable (while we wait for SF: Wii), and be able to explain ourselves very well, as well as think about answering possible counters. For example Miyu and Fay might confuse some of the SF fans who are used to Krystal. Being the third most popular character in that series the fact that she would be absent from the game could be lost profit. This isn't my fanboyism talking, don't shoot me.

I'm thinking about E-mailing Q-Games and seeing if they know who could aid us.

What are your thoughts?

Edit: Getting 1000 shouldn't be much of a problem. I can most certainly abuse my resources for all they are worth.

Makes perfect sense.
Someone of such could tell us the most effective way to present this to Nintendo; I'm all for it.
But who do we contact again? Q-Games?
I am not familiar with Q-games. How would one contact them?

Fired off an E-mail to Q-Games and I am currently setting up a Deviant Art account for something like this. Since the pokedex has had this much success we have a fighting chance. http://starfox2.deviantart.com/ I will have a journal to explain what I plan to do with it shortly.

Quote from: The E-mail
Dear Q-Games,

Myself and many other members of the Starfox fan community are in hopes of seeing Starfox 2 to become a reality. Seeing as you have worked on the Starfox series a bit perhaps you know who to contact to see this game come to life.

Thank you for your time,

EDIT: Reply from Dylan Cuthbert.

Hello there,

The best people to pressure would be Nintendo of America, if they got enough of a petition they might be able to persuade Nintendo to release it on their virtual console.
I have often suggested it, but for Mr Miyamoto it is a bit of a closed chapter in history I think.

Regards

Dylan

I would think if you got enough people who wanted it, and there was enough money to turn heads, Miyamoto would change his mind.

Yeah, I'm actually pretty in to this project.
SF2 on the virtual console.

Now, I could inform all the mexican, spanish, argentinan, chilenian and italian fans, but  most of them are inactive; and the only video game italian forum I know are final fantasy fans.

...god darn it, I wanna see SF2 on the Wii...
I'd ghive anything to play it on a console, god damn it.

True, Schattendorn...
Now... If we were to find some way to bother NOA about this... I believe I scoured NOA's website a while back looking for ways to contact them. I believe I came across something stating that they don't want suggestions regarding new games/etc, because they have teams of highly-trained individuals to decide that kind of stuff... >_>
Oh well, here's their contact page anyway... http://www.nintendo.com/contact
Eeeyeah... That was hard to find. :p
I think I heard a website a while back... Something like E-Petition? I don't know if it still exists, or even how one would USE said site, but... Maybe someone who can speak eloquently on this should be the one to write it.
Ah, here's the site: http://epetitions.net/
I have no idea how one would use these petitions, but... Yeah... We should go for it! Arwing Ace, you really seem to have a way with words, so I think you should be the one to write this petition. If you get one going, we can start advertising the petition in signatures, on other forums, on the dA group, and anywhere else we can stick an ad!

I think, also, once we get a considerable ammount of signatures on this petition, we should either e-mail a copy to NOA, or send them a link to it. If they ignore the first, we'll send it to them by mail. If they ignore the mail AND the e-mail, we can start bothering them by phone! WE SHALL NOT LET THEM REST UNTIL WE SEE ACTION! Shigiru Miyamoto himself will have to make a speech declaring that he would never in a million years release this game before I'd give up. I really have nothing better to do either, so I COULD manage 100 phone calls to NOA...

Very good Cobald

Well , Arwing Ace?, he was last time online on the 19 of march....and i don't now were he is now.
And Infinity was 2 weeks not online on her SF2 DA account.....

It could be that we are really not enough to bring it home...or not deeply committed enough?

I think we need a new approach.
Your petition find could help Cobald.

I do not belive this petion will work, I mean have ever you heard of the Starman.net petion?

30,000 signatures of Earthbound fans wanting Mother 3.

And what do they get?

Miyamoto saying "Earthbound fans are really solid."

And with that you'd think that when Mother 3 did come around there would be a NA release.

Wrong.

As of now there is no offical translation in the works, perhaps never.

If you think you get a unleased game to the VC on wii, I bid you good luck, you're gonna need it.

I go to a Wii site with hundreds of loyal Nintendoists. I am going to see how many i can get to support this.

Do we think we can make like an invisionfree board just for people to post for the petition? I COULD make one, but i suck so bad at it that it would be pointless

Hey, hey calm down - I'm not abandoning anything.

That E-Petition sounds like our most solid start. I'll check it out and hammer together a petition. (I'll post a draft before I submit anything permanent.)

So, Arwing Ace... Have you come up with anything yet?
I'm only asking because it's been about two weeks or so, and I'm quite curious...
Other than that, I haven't found anything else to actually share, so I guess this is kinda a shameless bump... >_> *Hides*

It's not a real Star Fox'd board.

Not many people there would've known much about it if I hadn't begun my unusual SF weirdness.

Even then, not much people even care.

I played through that translated SF2 rom. Way too easy, I only ever saw the game over screen yesterday on expert mode because I was fooling around A LOT... And even then, I continued with my partner and beat the game for like the second or third time. Haha.

I'd sign... Whatever it is we are signing, not sure if I could help find others but whatever. It's a good idea to put SF2 in SOMETHING, but I'm just rather incredibly angry slightly angry that they decided to put the sucky Xevious in SF:A instead of SF1 and SF2. Although to be honest, I'd rather have like a remake of SF2 but with instead of the map, you go to places in real time... That would be so cool. You would see those silly missiles attempting to own Corneria from far away...

Oh well.
