A track-by-track review just came out:

http://www.the-fly.co.uk/words/reviews/album-reviews/7073/album-review:-gorillazhttp://www.theskinny.co.uk/article/98682-gorillaz---plastic-beachSo, from what I gather, the First two and the last songs work in a similar manner to Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band.
...Intro and outro, I suppose.
And Bobby Womack is looking (uh) pretty good, regardless of his ripe age.
His strong vocals on Stylo were one of the standouts of the largely repetitive and electronic track, and will probably be in the entire album, alongside the other tune he's collaborated on.
And Damon Albarn's production could really mark a difference here, as opposed to Dan "The Automator" Nakamura's more hip-hop beat-influenced work on the first and Danger Mouse's great bass and pop resounding mixing on the second.
He's done the Horrors, but I can't really think of any clear reference points other than that, in the way the other two producers had distinctive marks (Dan - "Deltron 3030"; DM - "The Grey Album", "Gnarls Barkley")
Details aside, I can paint a clear enough picture (uh!) as to what we could expect from this.
...
...Personally, I'm stoked.
